     Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaners provide a useful and valuable service. Most clothing articles benefit from this useful but expensive service.

The dry cleaning industry uses a generic oil based solvent referred to as Perco.
The name of the solvent is descriptive as the solvent is allowed to percolate thru the fibers of the soiled articles during the cleaning process.

For most clothing articles such as wool suits and other textiles this is an effective cleaning method and the article will look like new for many years to come. Odor removal is also excellent.

However this very same process is not effective in removing cat urine or dog urine from leather clothing or comforters. In fact dry cleaning leather articles or comforters using this solvent will only lock the pet urine odors in and render them useless.

Before you make this mistake ask the dry cleaners to guarantee in writing the complete removal of your cat urine issue.

Protect your Leather Investment by reviewing the leather cleaning page.
