     Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is a mild acid and a powerful bleaching agent. Hydrogen peroxide is sometimes used with great caution to remove bloodstains from carpets and upholstery.

Since hydrogen peroxide will bleach and discolor many fabrics you should consider this risk carefully before trying to clean with it. If you are trying to remove blood stains from a mattress for a warranty claim you might end up voiding the mattress warranty by actually burning off the top layers of the mattress fabric.

This is the first thing the mattress manufacturer will check for. Since there are much safer, effective and virtually undetectable mattress cleaning products available you should seriously consider this risk carefully before proceeding.

Visit the cleaning agents page to learn what other products you should avoid.
