     Self Cleaning Ovens

Self cleaning ovens are sprayed with a special protective sealant that makes it very difficult for normal food stains to cling to the interior surfaces. The sealant works by preventing any stains from permeating and sticking to the oven interior. This special sealant is heat activated and normally very durable.

You should avoid any caustic chemicals or oven cleaning products which would strip this protective sealant from the oven surfaces. Read the labels of any cleaning products and oven cleaners to be sure.

You should avoid the use of any type of abrasive such as steel wool or other common scrubbers as this will seriously shorten the life of the protective sealant.

If you are thinking of hiring any type of house cleaning or maid service ask them how they clean self cleaning ovens before bringing them into your home. This will easily reveal if they are truly professionals or whether they are likely to damage your expensive self cleaning oven and render it useless.
